Eric Brown is Australia’s leading multi event coaches having consistently produced national and world class athletes in all events over many years.
Eric Brown was born in Toowoomba, Queensland and for more than 40 years has followed his passion for coaching track and field events to athletes from beginner level to elite level.
In 1996 Eric received his Level 5 coaching accreditation in Multi-Events with the Australian Track and Field Coaches Association. This is the highest accreditation issued by the association. In 1998 he also completed his Graduate Diploma of Sports Coaching from the University of Coaching.
Eric has had athletes in the Queensland Academy of Sports since the Academy’s inception, lectured in coach education for Griffith University for 12 years, and has been one of the Australian Track and Field Coaches Association’s leading course educators and lecturers for more than 30 years.
For the past 20 years Eric has spent considerable time working in the school environment assisting teachers develop their coaching skills and helping develop coaching programs for all events.
Eric’s experience as an educator, particularly within the school curriculum, has provided him with extensive experience and technical knowledge, and invaluable experience in helping teachers present athletics more efficiently and effectively in the school environment.
In 2008 Eric Brown was presented with the prestigious Henri Schubert Memorial Award by Athletics Australia on recommendation from the Australian Track and Field Coaches Association for his contribution to coaching and his service to athletics in Australia.
Eric currently lives in Brisbane and works as a full-time coach in both the school environment and privately, and continues to produce state, national, and international level athletes in all track and field events.
